Is this actually Ayurveda or just oil massage rebranded as wellness? +
Shataayu is a physician-supervised programme rooted in classical Ayurveda and Siddha medicine โ€” supervised by Dr. V Sunil Joshi, who developed the Oneness Ayurveda Panchakarma Protocol. This is not a spa. Your treatments are prescribed by a physician, adjusted daily, and designed around your specific constitution and health condition. The difference is the same as the difference between a doctor and a masseur.
I have diabetes / PCOS / thyroid โ€” is this safe for me? +
Yes โ€” in fact, these are the primary conditions Shataayu is designed to address. Your health history is reviewed by a physician before your place is confirmed. Any medications you are currently on will be considered in designing your treatment protocol. You do not need to stop your medication before arriving โ€” your physician will advise you on what to continue and what to adjust during the retreat.
Will I lose weight? By how much? Will it return? +
Most participants experience weight release during Shataayu โ€” but we frame it as release, not loss. The body releases what it no longer needs when cellular communication is restored. The amount varies per person and depends on your constitution and how closely you follow the post-retreat home protocol. Guests who follow the protocol report sustained release at 30, 60, and 90-day reviews. Guests who return to old patterns typically see the weight return.
Can I work from the campus during the programme? +
No โ€” and this is intentional, not a restriction. The healing that Shataayu initiates requires your full presence. The nervous system cannot be in repair and in performance mode simultaneously. Many guests find this the hardest part to commit to and the most valuable part of the experience. Our recommendation: treat the 7 days as you would surgery โ€” you would not schedule calls during surgery. Please arrange full leave before you arrive.
Is the campus safe for a woman travelling alone? +
Yes, completely. Sattva Campus is a gated, staffed, and fully supervised campus where the Oneness Movement has operated for decades. The majority of Shataayu participants are women travelling alone or in pairs. Female coordinators are available at all times. All treatment therapists are trained and supervised. The environment is described consistently by solo female guests as one of the safest and most supported spaces they have experienced.
Is there a Hindi-speaking coordinator I can speak to? +
Yes. Our team includes Hindi, Tamil, and English-speaking coordinators. When you WhatsApp us, please mention your preferred language and we will connect you with the right person. Your pre-retreat consultation and all programme communication can be conducted in Hindi.
How do I convince my family this is worth the investment? +
